WELCOME TO LEBANON, ILLINOIS! The Illinois Trekkers invite you to “Come Walk With Us” along Lebanon’s Belleville, St. Louis, Madison, Main and Center Streets to see a variety of architectural styles from Greek Revival, Gothic, Italianate, English Country, Queen Anne, Georgian and Southern Colonial. You will enjoy walking through the McKendree University campus. McKendree was founded in 1828 and is the oldest college or university in Illinois. Be on the look-out for the Secret Garden and the Mermaid House Inn.

The walk starts at the Lebanon, Illinois Visitor Center located at 221 St. Louis Street, Lebanon, IL 62249. PARKING: Parking is available along city streets where designated.

Start between 8:30 am and 11:30 am; finish by 2:30 pm.  Walk at your own pace and pleasure.  Event will take place regardless of weather.  Restrooms are available at the start point and on the trail.

After walking be sure to enjoy the Annual Fall Festival and all the wonderful eating establishments in Lebanon, Illinois.

 

Group Walk Springfield Capital Walk YRE on September 20, 2021

Please join the Illinois Trekkers on a group walk with Tater Tours. Tater Tours will be arriving by bus from Chicago to walk the Capital Walk. Registration will be at 12:30 pm and walk should begin by 1:00 pm. The walk will start at the visitors center at 401 College Street.

The walk will feature many historic sites as well as the capital & old capital. Walk where Lincoln walked for many years. There are many restaurants for walkers to stop to have something to eat.
