Events

Meeting will be in the Kinsella Room at the Fairview Heights Library.  When you reach 10017 Bunkum Road turn right onto Library Drive and continue to the library parking lot behind the library. Enter through the door on lower level at back of library.

There are two 5k routes, both are paved & nearly level. The loop trail heads south paralleling the Missouri River with a pretty view of St. Charles on the opposite bank and returns along the levee. The out-and-back trail goes north along the levee, passing under a railroad bridge and Highway 370 with a turnaround at Missouri Bottoms Trailhead. This trail has two slight inclines.

The Illinois Trekkers invite you to join them in a 5k/10k group walk. Note time change for registration start time & start location. Register at Glen Carbon Library at 9:00 AM and start walking at 9:15 AM.
5K walk normally takes about 1 hour.
10K walk normally takes about 2 hours

Experience the tradition – bring your family and friends on this most unique volksmarch in the metro-east Illinois area as you walk among over one million miniature lights illuminating trees, figures, and displays that depict the true Christmas story. The Shrine campus is not open for public display during this event, so minimal traffic will interfere with your enlightening walk experience. Walkers will have a chance to win an Illinois Bicentennial pin.
