The Gateway Milers are hosting a traditional walk. Walkers may register from 8:30 to 11:00 am. Walkers must be off the trail by 2:00 pm. Two different 5k routes will be offered as well as a 10k option. One 5k will be a flat walk along the river, this is the 1B. The other 5k will be the incomparable River Scene trail which is a spectacular trail that climbs up the bluffs and then traverses a series of bluffs overlooking the river. It then goes down a long wooden staircase to the valley and along the river. First half is up and then flat. Numerous spots to rest and enjoy the view on the way up. This is rated 2+ C at beginning and 1B second half. The 10k will incorporate the River Scene Trail and other areas of the park and is rated 2+C in parts and 1B in other sections. Hiking boots recommended.
