Group Walk Springfield, Illinois Capital Walk YRE

The Illinois Trekkers invite you to join them in a 5k/10k group walk.
Register at 9:45 AM and start walking at 10:00 AM. The Illinois Trekkers will be carpooling from two locations.  One car will leave from Schnucks at 907 East Highway 50 in O’Fallon, IL. Second car will leave from the CMT YMCA at 1 Town Center Drive in Maryville, IL. Both groups will meet at 7:45 AM & leave at 8:00 AM.

The Friends of the Old Millstadt Water Tower will be hosting their fourth annual car show , “Rally Around the Tower” at Mertz Ford, 100 East Washington Street. Both the 5k & 10k will pass the car show. Entertainment, food  & beverages are available.

Cahokia Mounds Ancient History Walk

The Illinois Trekkers invite you to walk Cahokia Mounds-a State Historic Site, the largest prehistoric site north of Mexico. Walk where the Mississippian Indians first settled in 700 AD. The mounds were built of earth transported in baskets on peoples’ backs to elevate ceremonial builds & residences of the elite & to provide burial sites. Walkers can climb 154 steps to the top of Monks Mound.
