Virginia “Ginny” Murphy
November 18, 1929 – February 17, 2025
Virginia was a member of the Illinois Trekkers and enjoyed walking. Ginny was a docent at the St. Louis Zoo, a role she loved dearly. She assisted with Art on the Square in Belleville for many years.
Ginny loved birding, spending time in nature, and was continuously eager to learn more about the world around her. Along with keeping her mind sharp, she stayed active, whether it be golfing, playing tennis, bicycling, swimming and Volksmarching.
Walkers enjoyed walking with Ginny and we will miss Ginny.

Cancelled Wreaths Across America Wreath Retirement & Group Walk Jefferson Barracks YRE on January 18, 2025 & Cancelled Group Walk A Walk in “old Town” Glen Carbon on January 21, 2025
To safeguard everyone’s safety, scheduled walks tomorrow at Jefferson Barracks and Tuesday at Glen Carbon are CANCELLED. Sidewalks and paths are still not clear; more cold weather is settling in for a few days; and forecasted rains may turn to ice on walking and parking surfaces.
Thank you to all who participated in December with laying of wreaths at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Wreaths Across America will proceed at JBNC with wreath retrieval beginning at 8 a.m., for those who may still want to lend a hand.
