The Illinois Trekkers found old friends on the Tater Tour and made new friends.

Walkers saw the Capital, Lincoln’s Museum, Lincoln’s home & Lincoln’s Law office. Walkers also found new sites on the walk.

Columbia had the scarecrows out to welcome walkers on the walk.

Please join the Illinois Trekkers on a group walk with Tater Tours. Tater Tours will be arriving by bus from Chicago to walk the Capital Walk. Registration will be at 12:30 pm and walk should begin by 1:00 pm. The walk will start at the visitors center at 401 College Street.

The walk will feature many historic sites as well as the capital & old capital. Walk where Lincoln walked for many years. There are many restaurants for walkers to stop to have something to eat.

The Illinois Trekkers walked the 5k March to the Arch. The Illinois Trekkers met with many of their walker friends at St. Louis University before they started the March to the Arch.

The March to the Arch finished at the base of the Arch.

The Illinois Trekkers invite all bike riders to join them for a one hour bike ride. Meet on the parking lot of Belleville East YMCA at 2627 Carlyle Ave, Belleville, IL. Registration at 5:15 pm & ride at 5:30 pm. This is an AVA sanctioned bike ride. All riders pay $3 & will stamp their event book & bike distance book.

Registration at 9:45 am & ride at 10:00 am. This is an AVA sanctioned bike ride. All riders pay $3 & will stamp their event book & bike distance book.

 

The Illinois Trekkers with other walkers are ready to step off on a traditional walk on a very hot day.

The Illinois Trekkers walked the 5k route that took walkers to “the Hill”.

Walkers were glad to be in the Mall to walk with the heat advisory for the area continuing.

Air conditioninf felt good compared to the outside temperatures.

Three Mile Thursday group walk has been moved to St. Clair Square Mall due to the excessive heat & heat advisory.  Registration at 5:45 PM at Walgreen in Fairview Heights.

The rain stayed away so walkers could enjoy all the great sites in Forest Park.

Forest Park has so many wonderful nature sites to enjoy.
