Edwardsville is getting ready for Halloween.

Walkers enjoyed all the Halloween decorations.

The walkers look small compared to these skeletons.

Mr. & Mrs. Skeleton were ready to greet walkers.

The Illinois Trekkers invite you to walk/ramble in historic Red Bud on October 5th. When city lots were initially sold at public auction in 1849, the site was covered with red bud trees, from which the town derived its name. An important station on the stagecoach route between St. Louis, Belleville, Kaskaskia and Chester, the town was chartered in 1867. While ramblin’ in Red Bud, view the Opera House that is now home to the 1860 Public House and the Red Bud Museum. Beautiful homes, along with opportunities to see several classic cars, fill the streets of Red Bud. There is a classic service station with a wrecker too. The exterior of the beautifully unique City Hall remains basically the same as built in 1894 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

START LOCATION: Randolph County YMCA, 130 South Oak Street, Red Bud IL 62278.

START TIME: Start between 8:30 am and 11 am. Walk at your own pace and finish by 2 pm.

The cemetery is divided into two cemeteries. Mascoutah City Cemetery in the front & Holy Childhood Catholic Cemetery in the back.

Registration will be at 9:15 am at Scheve Park. Walk will start at 9:30 am.

Walkers found the jack-o-lantern ready for the Blues to start playing hockey.

City Hall was decorated for Fall & encouraged others to register & decorate for the scarecrow crawl.

The 5k walkers did the Kellsie’s Hope Foundation 5k walk.

Registration for the Mascoutah Walk YRE has been moved to the Mascoutah Library, 3 West Church Street, Mascoutah, Illinois. The St. Louis Coffee Shop is closing so a new start location was necessary.

Walkers always stop to have a picture with the decorated log.

Someone is very creative & changes the log’s appearance frequently.
