Walkers enjoyed the cooler temperatures & a fun walk. After the walk walkers were treated to a beautiful rainbow. Mother nature was being very good to the walkers.

The Heat was on, but the walkers enjoyed the walk at the Shrine.

Walkers can view the Robert Wadlow statue on the walk. Walkers may purchase an embroidered patch depicting Robert Wadlow, the tallest man in the world. The patch will be available for $4 at the start table. Only 50 patches will be available for purchase.

Walkers enjoyed walking 5k on a warm & humid spring morning.

 

Come help celebrate the Bicentennial of the state of Illinois. Walkers will view the Lincoln-Douglas Debate site & will continue through historic Alton, Illinois. Alton was part of the Underground Railroad during the Civil War & home to Robert Wadlow, the tallest man. Walkers can view the Robert Wadlow the Tallest Man Statue. Those wishing to join the Underground Railroad Tour should make reservations for the 1:00 pm tour by calling 800 258-6645 or sign-up  online: visitalton.com/shuttle. Cost $25 per person for a 2 hour tour. Starts at Visitor Center, 200 Piasa Street.

Watch for this beautiful caterpillar on the Main Street 5k walk. Both walks start at the pavilion by the beer stands.

Stay & watch the parade & see this float in the parade.

The Main Street 5k walk and the Cemetery 5k walk both pass the Marissa Academy monument.
